Ritprofielen

  • The daily commuter

The same ride every working day, rain or shine. You want to arrive dry and pull your laptop and clean clothes out of your bag dry — without having to think about it in the morning.

  • The e-bike commuter

You ride faster, so the rain hits harder. And you have expensive electronics on board: a display on your handlebars and a battery you would rather not leave out in the rain for hours.

  • The student

From lectures to your side job to home, with your laptop on the back. Your bike is often parked outside and you rarely leave at exactly the moment it happens to be dry.

  • The parent with a child seat

Daycare drop-off first, the office after. You want your child to stay dry and the two of you to stand out in traffic, even when it is already dark at five.

  • The night rider

From late October well into February you ride out and back in the dark. A light shows that you are there; reflection makes you light up the moment headlights fall on you.

The Rainproof Commuter Kit

Complete commuter kits for riding to work through wind and rain. Everything you need to arrive dry and visible, together in one set.

Reflection & night

Visible in the dark

In November it is already dark at 17:00. Our reflection is applied all the way around and lights up in headlights. No choosing between dry and seen — you get both.

Eerlijk over water

Waterdicht, spatwaterdicht of waterafstotend?

Waterdicht

Meeste bescherming

Keeps water out completely, including in sustained rain. Recognisable by welded seams, so without the holes a sewing needle makes, and by a roll-top closure or a covered zip.

Op je woon-werkrit
You ride twenty minutes through a heavy shower and your laptop and your dry clothes arrive dry.
Waar het ophoudt
Waterproof does not mean submersible. A closure that is not shut properly still lets water through, and seams and coatings lose their effect through wear.

Spatwaterdicht

Gemiddelde bescherming

Keeps splashing water out from every direction: short, light showers and water thrown up from the side. This is the level IPX4 describes; for sustained road spray, IPX5 is the minimum.

Op je woon-werkrit
Enough for a short ride or a single shower. Your things stay dry as long as the water does not keep coming.
Waar het ophoudt
In sustained or heavy rain, water eventually works its way in along seams and zips. For daily commuting in October this is not enough.

Waterafstotend

Minste bescherming

The material beads off light drizzle thanks to a coating on the outside. The water is repelled, not held back.

Op je woon-werkrit
Enough for ten minutes of drizzle to the station. Not enough for a ride straight through the rain.
Waar het ophoudt
A coating wears down and loses its effect through washing and use. In a real downpour, water works its way in through seams and zips.

  • Without FietsProof

Wet laptop & papers. Invisible in the dark. Fiddling every morning with a plastic bag that tears after one ride.

  • With FietsProof

Everything dry and separated. Seen in the dark. Set it up once and you're done — built to last for years.

  1. The supplier first, the product after

We assess every supplier on paper: purchase price, delivery time to the Netherlands, a return address inside the EU and which product data they can supply. If a supplier doesn't get through that, the product doesn't get in.

  2. No EU Responsible Person? No product

Every product must have a named manufacturer and an EU Responsible Person. We don't sell anything that is shipped to your door directly from outside the EU.

  3. We ride with it ourselves

We buy one of every product first and use it on our own commute: in the rain, on the rear rack, with the things you actually carry. Whatever disappoints us doesn't make it into the shop.

  4. We only say what we can back up

Waterproof, splash-proof and water-repellent do not mean the same thing. We use the word that matches the evidence the supplier gave us — and if there is none, we don't use the word.

  5. Everything we know is on the page

Manufacturer, EU Responsible Person, safety warnings in Dutch and available documents are on the product page itself. If we don't know something, the field stays empty instead of filled in.
